The tūī is more than a bird — it is a voice of the forest, a carrier of whispers between worlds. Kai kawe karere, “the bringer of messages,” honours this role.

Bathed in shimmering greens and blues, the tūī seems to glow with its own light, the fine lace of feathers at its throat and the soft white poi alive with movement. Its gaze is lifted, as though listening to something beyond our hearing — the call of ancestors, the rhythm of wind through trees, the song of the unseen.
