LANA.K

(About the Artist)

Lana Kingsbeer is a New Zealand fine-art painter whose luminous oil works celebrate the spirit of Aotearoa — its birds, coastlines, heritage and light.
Her paintings explore the quiet conversation between humanity and nature, blending realism, texture and emotion to honour the essence of each subject.

Influenced by te ao Māori — through respect rather than lineage — Lana’s work reflects appreciation for kaitiakitanga (guardianship) and manaakitanga (respect). This year’s collection focuses on native birds such as the tūī, kākā, kōtuku and toutouwai, supporting Project Island Song and its mission to restore the voices of the Bay of Islands.

As curator and lead for the collaborative exhibition Toi Tū at Haratu Marae, Lana envisioned a space where artists and community meet — where stories, heritage, and creativity are shared with warmth, humility, and heart.
