To Majorie

Lana photographed several images in the town of Lawrence, New Zealand, and this one stood out — the bright orange vase seen through broken glass first caught her eye. She named the painting after her grandmother Majorie, who was a huge part of her life and encouraged her to pursue painting. On finishing it, Lana felt her late grandmother’s presence and dedicated the work to her. Weeks later she noticed the ‘face’ of a lady in one of the bottles — unmistakably, it was Majorie.
