Grandmother of the Ocean. The weathered vessel Fish II rests in the calm waters of Waikare Inlet — still afloat, yet slowly being reclaimed by Moana. Once a craft of purpose, she now carries a different life. Her worn timbers and fading paint tell the colours of her years; her hull shelters the nesting karoro who call her home.
This work honours her quiet endurance and the cycle of guardianship — where sea, sky, and time weave together to cradle both memory and renewal.
